Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction and Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP" or "Policy") defines the acceptable and prohibited uses of GuardioBot (the "Service"). This Policy applies to all users, including server administrators, moderators, and community members who interact with or are affected by the Service.

GuardioBot is operated as an individual project. "GuardioBot Technologies" is a trade name used to describe the Service and does not constitute a legal business entity.

By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Violations of this Policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of Service access, as well as potential legal action.

2. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited when using the Service. This list is not exhaustive, and we reserve the right to determine what constitutes a violation of this Policy.

2.1 Illegal Activities

You may NOT use the Service to engage in, facilitate, or promote any illegal activities, including but not limited to:

  • Distribution of Illegal Content: Sharing, distributing, or storing illegal materials such as child sexual abuse material (CSAM), illicit drugs, weapons, stolen data, or counterfeit goods
  • Criminal Activity: Planning, coordinating, or executing criminal activities including fraud, theft, extortion, blackmail, or money laundering
  • Human Trafficking: Facilitating or promoting human trafficking, forced labor, or exploitation
  • Terrorism: Supporting, promoting, or facilitating terrorist organizations or activities
  • Copyright Infringement: Large-scale distribution of pirated software, movies, music, games, or other copyrighted materials
  • Identity Theft: Stealing, using, or distributing personal information for fraudulent purposes
  • Hacking and Unauthorized Access: Gaining or attempting to gain unauthorized access to computer systems, networks, or data

2.2 Harmful Content

You may NOT use the Service to create, distribute, or promote content that:

  • Threatens Violence: Contains credible threats of violence against individuals, groups, or organizations
  • Incites Violence: Encourages or incites violent actions or self-harm
  • Promotes Hate Speech: Promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or other protected characteristics
  • Exploits Minors: Contains, distributes, or facilitates the creation of content that sexually exploits or endangers children
  • Depicts Extreme Violence: Contains gratuitous or extreme violent content, including gore, torture, or cruelty to humans or animals
  • Promotes Self-Harm: Encourages suicide, self-injury, eating disorders, or other self-destructive behaviors
  • Glorifies Dangerous Activities: Promotes dangerous challenges, stunts, or activities that could result in serious injury or death

2.3 Abuse and Harassment

You may NOT use the Service to:

  • Harass Others: Engage in persistent, unwanted contact or behavior that intimidates, threatens, or demeans individuals
  • Dox Individuals: Share private personal information without consent, including addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers, or other identifying information
  • Coordinate Harassment: Organize raids, brigading, or coordinated harassment campaigns against individuals, communities, or organizations
  • Impersonate Others: Impersonate individuals, organizations, or GuardioBot staff to deceive or mislead others
  • Stalk or Monitor: Track, monitor, or surveil individuals without their consent
  • Sexual Harassment: Engage in unwanted sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical harassment of a sexual nature

2.4 Security Violations

You may NOT:

  • Attempt Unauthorized Access: Attempt to access, probe, or test the vulnerability of the Service, our systems, or other users' accounts without authorization
  • Distribute Malware: Upload, transmit, or distribute viruses, malware, trojans, ransomware, spyware, or other malicious code
  • Phishing: Engage in phishing, social engineering, or other deceptive practices to obtain sensitive information
  • DDoS Attacks: Launch or facilitate distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks or other attacks designed to disrupt services
  • Exploit Vulnerabilities: Exploit security vulnerabilities in the Service for unauthorized access or advantage
  • Circumvent Security: Bypass, disable, or interfere with security features, access controls, or rate limits
  • Credential Theft: Steal, harvest, or phish for user credentials, authentication tokens, or API keys

2.5 Service Abuse

You may NOT:

  • Spam: Send unsolicited bulk messages, advertisements, or promotional content
  • Abuse Resources: Excessively consume Service resources in a manner that degrades performance for other users
  • Create Multiple Accounts: Create multiple accounts to evade bans, restrictions, or rate limits
  • Automate Abuse: Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to abuse, exploit, or manipulate the Service
  • Resell Service: Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without authorization
  • False Reporting: Submit false, fraudulent, or malicious reports or abuse complaints
  • Manipulate Metrics: Artificially inflate or manipulate usage statistics, metrics, or analytics

2.6 Intellectual Property Violations

You may NOT:

  • Infringe Copyrights: Upload, distribute, or share copyrighted materials without permission or legal right
  • Infringe Trademarks: Use trademarks, logos, or brand names without authorization in a manner that causes confusion
  • Steal Trade Secrets: Misappropriate or disclose trade secrets or confidential business information
  • Reverse Engineer: Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service or attempt to derive source code
  • Remove Attributions: Remove, obscure, or alter copyright notices, trademarks, or other proprietary rights notices

2.7 Privacy Violations

You may NOT:

  • Violate Privacy Laws: Violate applicable privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, or other data protection regulations
  • Collect Personal Data: Collect, harvest, scrape, or store personal information without consent or legal authorization
  • Share Private Information: Share private communications, messages, or information without consent
  • Surveil Users: Monitor, track, or surveil users' activities without their knowledge and consent
  • Sell User Data: Sell, trade, or transfer user data to third parties without authorization

3. Platform-Specific Requirements

In addition to this AUP, you must comply with the terms of service and community guidelines of the platforms where GuardioBot operates.

3.1 Discord Requirements

When using GuardioBot on Discord, you must comply with:

Violations of Discord's policies may result in immediate termination of GuardioBot service access, in addition to any actions taken by Discord.

3.2 Roblox Requirements

When using GuardioBot on Roblox, you must comply with:

  • Roblox Privacy Policy: Available at https://www.roblox.com/info/privacy

Violations of Roblox's policies may result in immediate termination of GuardioBot service access, in addition to any actions taken by Roblox.

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of GuardioBot, you have specific responsibilities to ensure the Service is used appropriately and in compliance with this Policy.

4.1 Content Moderation

You are responsible for:

  • Moderating content within your server or experience in accordance with applicable laws and platform policies
  • Promptly addressing violations of this AUP that occur within your community
  • Taking appropriate action against users who violate this Policy
  • Maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all community members
  • Implementing reasonable measures to prevent prohibited activities

4.2 Configuration and Settings

You are responsible for:

  • Properly configuring GuardioBot's moderation settings and filters
  • Regularly reviewing and updating moderation rules to address evolving threats
  • Ensuring moderation settings comply with applicable laws and platform policies
  • Testing and validating moderation configurations to prevent over-moderation or under-moderation
  • Providing clear guidelines to your community about acceptable behavior

4.3 Monitoring and Oversight

You are responsible for:

  • Regularly monitoring moderation logs and actions taken by GuardioBot
  • Reviewing false positives and false negatives in automated moderation
  • Maintaining human oversight over automated moderation decisions
  • Responding promptly to user appeals or complaints about moderation actions
  • Cooperating with investigations into policy violations

5. Enforcement and Violations

5.1 Detection and Reporting

We may detect violations of this Policy through:

  • Automated monitoring and detection systems
  • User reports and complaints
  • Platform reports (Discord, Roblox)
  • Law enforcement requests
  • Third-party notifications
  • Routine audits and reviews

5.2 Investigation Process

When we receive a report or detect a potential violation:

  • We will review the reported activity and gather relevant evidence
  • We may temporarily suspend Service access during investigation
  • We may request additional information from you or other parties
  • We will determine whether a violation occurred and the appropriate response
  • We will notify you of our findings and any actions taken

We reserve the right to conduct investigations at our sole discretion and are not obligated to provide detailed explanations of our findings or decisions.

5.3 Enforcement Actions

Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, we may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Warning: Issue a formal written warning about the violation
  • Temporary Suspension: Temporarily suspend Service access for a specified period
  • Feature Restriction: Restrict access to specific features or functionality
  • Permanent Termination: Permanently terminate Service access and ban associated accounts
  • Legal Action: Pursue legal action, including civil claims or criminal referrals
  • Platform Reporting: Report violations to Discord, Roblox, or other relevant platforms
  • Law Enforcement Referral: Report illegal activities to law enforcement authorities

6. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violations of this Acceptable Use Policy, we encourage you to report them immediately.

How to Report:

  • Email: Send detailed reports to abuse@guardiobot.org
  • Discord: Contact our moderation team on our official Discord server
  • Emergency: For urgent matters involving immediate threats or illegal activity, contact legal@guardiobot.org

Information to Include:

  • Detailed description of the violation
  • Evidence (screenshots, logs, URLs, timestamps)
  • Server/experience details where the violation occurred
  • User information (if applicable)
  • Your contact information for follow-up

We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly. However, we cannot guarantee a specific response time or outcome for every report.

7. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by:

  • Posting the updated Policy on our website with a new "Last Updated" date
  • Sending notifications through the Service (Discord announcements, bot messages, etc.)
  • Sending email notifications (if you have provided an email address)

Your continued use of the Service after any changes to this Policy constitutes your acceptance of the modified Policy. If you do not agree to the modified Policy, you must discontinue use of the Service.

We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about acceptable use standards.

BY USING GUARDIOBOT, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT:

1. You have read and understood this Acceptable Use Policy in its entirety.
2. You agree to comply with all provisions of this Policy.
3. You understand that violations may result in immediate termination of Service access.
4. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with this Policy.
5. You will promptly report any violations you become aware of.
6. We reserve the right to take any actions necessary to enforce this Policy.
